Acer Aspire E380 video card driver problem

Anyone that can help me with this I would greatly appreciate it.

I have an  Acer SAspire e380 originally came with Vista. I did a clean install and installed XP. I have all the drivers, except I can't seem to get the correct driver for the video card. The card is Nvidia Geforce 7300 gs. I've tried all the latest drivers but they are not working. I've even tried a few old ones, still no luck. I installed the Nvidia chipset driver from the acer support site, do I need this one too? My monitor shows lines vertically across the screen, I've switched monitors and the same result. I just think I need the right driver so I can install the card correctly and the monitor's driver.

    Hi Texas!

Please try the below link :

    http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/winxp-327.23-whql-driver-uk.html

This is the XP driver for your card series. The nVidia website also allows you to install a program that will scan your pc for the correct drivers if the above driver doesn't work.

It's also worth checking your processors manufacturers website (ie AMD or Intel) as they often have a program that will scan your pc for any missing drivers & will allow you to install them!

Also when the graphics driver has installed, try adjusting the screen resolution - it may not automatically adjust to your prefered setting.

Other than physically trying legacy drivers, it may be worth buying a used graphics card from ebay or a local store (who may let you return it, if not suitable).

The problem is, finding that elusive XP driver.....

    Good luck
