Acer Iconia W510 Keyboard/Dock Known Problems

Early adopters of the Iconia W510 with keyboard/dock already know very well that there are two big problems with the keyboard/dock unit.  Specifically, (1) The repeating keystroke problem (i.e. pressing a given key results in more than one character sent to screen....e.g. "ffffffff" as opposed to "f".) and (2) touchpad not responding as expected to finger motion/cursor movement...(e.g.  cursor jumping vertically when attempting lateral cursor movement).

These problems continue to plague me even after properly applying all Acer recommended driver and firmware updates.

My question is:  Has Acer accepted responsibility for the engineering flaw in the keyboard/dock unit and has Acer furnished a definitive fix for this?

I need a solution to these problems and am prepared to send my tablet and keyboard/dock unit to Acer, but I would like to know if any other persons have done so and have received back a keyboard/dock unit that actually works 100% properly.

Thank you.

I had only problem (2) and it was fixed perfectly in Acer service. They put in some mylar film under the touchpad. In my case it was enough to send in the keyboard dock only.

We are having problems with repeating keypresses as well. Namely the m and fullstop (.) keys as well as a few others. Did have the mouse problem until a firmware update fixed that.

We are in the same boat now - with 1040 tablets in service and cannot source keyboards.

We have found the keyboards to be quite susceptable to power issues, we have even had some get hot and turn our asset labels brown with heat.  The usual problem is that the USB doesn't work.

    Good luck sourcing them.

The touchpad has frozen a couple of times and required a restart to start working normally again.

While I have experienced repeatead keystrokes a few times, missed keystrokes have been a much bigger issue for me.
