acer C112 and Xbox 360 via composite help

I just bought a £100 acer dlc projector to gain a 100" screen. the input for xbox( or other device) is composite via a AV 3.5 jack. I have bought a RCA (yellow/red/white) to 3.5 jack and can run my xbox through it.
It plays all media I throw at it, but it only plays 50hz games correctly (i.e tigerwoods 2013, Gears of war 2)... when I try to play say Modern warfare 3, the xbox promps me to select 60hz. after selecting 60hz the projected image is fuzzy/with interference....

Looking at the Acer c112 output specs it says it offers the following:
NTSC 60
PAL 50
PAL-M 60
PAL-N 50
PAL-60 60
NTSC4.43 60

I have now purchased (yet still to arrive) a HDMI to composite converter, which has a PAL and a NTSC selector: Full product description below:

The HDMI to AV signal mini converter will convert HDM video signal or audio signal to AV (CVBS) composite video signal (standard-definition 480i, 576i,) and the FL / FR stereo audio signals, while support DVI system sideline signals. It supports NTSC and PAL two TV format (please choose the proper format for your TV). ● Input ports: 1xHDMI. ●Output ports: 1xRCA (Yellow, White, Red) ●HDMI Input Resolution: 640x480@60Hz,800x600@60Hz, 1024x768@60Hz,1280x720@60Hz, 1280x1024@60Hz,1360x768@60Hz,1600x1200@60Hz,1920x1080@60Hz, 480i/60Hz, 480p/60Hz, 576i/60Hz, 576p/60Hz, 720p50/60Hz,1080I50/60Hz, 1080p50/60Hz. ●CVBS output: PAL, NTSC_M, and NTSC_J; 480i, 576i, ●Compatible HDMI1.3 2.0 SPECIFICATIONS ●Support NTSC and PAL two standard TV formats output ●No need to install drivers, portable, flexible, plug and play. ●Low power, No power adaptor. ●Dimensions (mm): 66(D) x55(W) x20(H) ●Wight (g): 40 Package Includes ●1 x HDMI to CVBS mini converter ●1 x USB Power cable

My questions are: If I send a 60hz signal via hdmi lead to this converter then connect converter to the projector will I still have the same issues with the 60hz distortion?
Would switching the PAL/NTSC selector make it work at 60hz?
Or is there any other way I can play 60hz games on my projector that does PAL 50/NTSC 60?

Thanks

Im confussed, xbox 360 set to pal-60, Acer C112 projector supposedly handles pal-60 and all i get is a distorted image with wrong colours, lines etc. Swich xbox back to pal-50, Acer displays perfectly. Most my games require pal-60, what the hells going on Acer? Any help/suggestions welcome.
