Acer 1261P Not turning on ??

Hey All,

I seemed to have run into a slight problem. My Acer 1261P will not turn on and the On Button Flasshes 2 blue 1 long red and according to the manual it could indicate a bulb malfunction or Color Wheel.. Now I am thinking something a miss with the bulb or do you all think it could be a dead projector..

It does seem to want to turn on the fans all spin just the bulb will not light up.. and after a few tries the On button flasshes 2 blue and 1 red long.. IS this a dead bubl and the projector should still be OK??

EDIT: I bought a new bulb I shall see in about a week if it was the bulb or if it is the Projector.. I am hoping it was just the bulb..

Well turns out it was my Old Bulb was Dead.. Funny thing is it did NOT pop or look Broken?? Guess when these bulbs die they just die with no looks of being dead..

Yeah, kinda sucks when the best option is replace the $200+ part, but it seems to be the case with most projectors. In my experience, they usually act like incandecent light bulbs when the blow out, but may show even less signs of physical deformity in certain cases (no burnt mark, no rattling sound, etc.). Very odd that you didn't at least hear a *pop*, though...
