Microphone not working on new Apire...HELP

Have updated driver, but still not working.... (tested in Skype/Audiacity)

Windows 8, Aspire E1-571

    Let’s try running the hardware troubleshooter and check if that helps. Follow these steps to run the troubleshooter.


    a) Press the ‘Windows + C’ to activate the charms menu or move the mouse pointer to bottom right corner of the screen and you will get the charms menu.
    b) Click on ‘search’ and select ‘settings’.
    c) Type ‘Troubleshooting’ and select ‘troubleshooting’.
    d) Click on ‘Hardware and Sound’ and select ‘Hardware and Devices’ and click on next to run the troubleshooter.

     
     
     
    Follow these steps to test for an audio signal:
    Press the Windows + W key.
    Type Sound into the Search field.
    Click Sound from the list of results.
    The Sound window opens.
    Click the Recording tab.
    Right click an empty area of the Sound window.
    Click Show Disabled Devices and Show Disconnected Devices .
    To test a microphone, speak into it. To test line-in, send a signal from the source audio device (press play on the audio player). Look at the gray bars next to the device name on the recording tab:If the gray bars next to the device name change to green, this device is active and an audio signal is passing through the microphone or
