S7-392 Wifi Issues Driving Me Crazy!!

So I bought the new S7-392 a couple weeks ago and every single day I have at least 3-4 wifi drops while all other devices in my home work just fine, even while I'm experiencing problems on the S7. I don't seem to disconnect from the Wifi network but my speeds drop down to 5-6MB and basically all my connectivity is gone. I have the very latest driver from Intel and still have these problems.

Today I ended up going out and buying a USB wifi adapter so I could just stop using the built in wifi, its so bad! Anyone else having any troubles with wifi? None of my other laptops, a macbook pro, asus vivobook, and all my phones, nexus 4, lumia 1020, have any troubles at all. Just the S7 drops 3-4 times per day. A reboot solves it for a while but then it does it again later.

I have turned off the power management options and set the power managment to maximum performance for wifi adapter. This is frustrating!!

I have the same problem with my S7-392. Acer previously suggested downloading the latest driver from their website, but I did that and the problem still exists. Acer, please respond.

Sort of glad to know that someone else has the same problem anyway. I have tried every driver you can imagine and nothing seems to fix it. Other than this issue and the spacebar not working consiistenly, this is the best laptop I've ever used but these two issues are starting to become deal breakers and I'm going to have to do something else if I can't at least get the WIFI fixed!

Yeah, its ridiculous that I have to restart my router every 15 minutes just to use the internet. This is becoming a deal-breaker for me too. Acer needs to respond ASAP.

My S7 WiFi connection drops out randomly, usually within 5-30 minutes of using the computer. I have to reboot it to reestablish the connection.

When the WiFi drops out, the WiFi indicator othe bottom typically states "Identifying..." or sometimes "Limited" though clicking on it will bring up a panel on the side of Windows 8 that always shows the network as Connected.

I contacted Acer about this and they wanted me to send the S7-392 in for repair at my expense. I'm not willing to do that for a brand new laptop and I'm quite certain there's nothing they can do to fix it anyway.

I updated the Intel wireless driver, and installed all the Windows 8 updates. Nothing matters. I have numerous computers and other wireless devices which all work with my D-Link wireless router perfectly.

This computer is going back to Amazon next week. It's too bad, it's really a very nice computer*.

Same problme for my S7-392 with latest driver for wifi adaper and my route.

It just happened randomly and for a long period of time, and all my other devices on the same wifi network works fine at the same time. Tried to reboot the route but the problem is still, so I am pretty sure there is something wrong with the wifi adapter.

When the wifi connection problem is happening, I can't even access the route setting page, even the conenction is established and signal bar is full.

In the meantime, I have tried to ping the route or other websites (e.g. google) constantly, the latency could range from several thousand ms to unreachable (so I basically cannot reach the route even the laptop is connected to its wireless network, believe it?!!)

Acer needs to respond to it ASAP.

My temporary solution to the problem is using an external USB wirelss adapter.

I havent had any problems, but it does eat up my batteries and unneccessarily use up a USB port.

I downloaded the newest Intel wireless drivers directly from Intel's website. The version on Intel's site is considerably newer than what's on Acer's site:

My S7 WiFi has been working flawlessly this morning. Perhaps thisi is the fix.

wireless_16.1.3_De64.exe is the file you want.

I'll post an update after I see how the day goes with the S7.

This is the driver I am using, but is not helpful for me, and same problem remains.

I have used the latest drivers from Acer's site as well as the latest driver from atheros.cz on my Qualcomm Atheros wifi modem. Neither driver works. My temporary solution is also to use an external USB wireless adapter dongle, but this is not what I paid for so the unit is going back for full refund.

The computer's WiFi connection has been flawless all day. This is quite a relief! The version of the Intel driver that's on your website is outdated. If you place the newest Intel driver on your website, and ask people to install it, you will solve a lot of problems.

Installing the latest version found on your web site doesn't fix the problem, it's the first thing I tried. Only installing the latest driver found on the Intel website fixed the situation for me.

If this continues working tonight & tomorrow I will indeed be extremely pleased. But given that the WiFi would fail within 15 minutes (30 at the very most) every time I used the computer, and it's been flawless all day, I'm 99% convinced the problem is solved.

I've used the S7 non-stop yesterday and today. There's no question that the latest Intel WiFi driver fixed my problem. The WiFi is rock-solid and I have had zero dropout. I ran a speed test (speedtest.net) and the performance was fantastic. I hope others have similar luck.

The latest Intel driver does seem to perform significantly better. I'm not ready to call it a complete cure though. I definitely saw increased speed, and longer uptime on WiFi connections with the new driver, but, it improved from very poor with the old driver, to just mediocre with the new Intel driver. Speeds improved to only about 3MB/s. The connections held up longer but still dropped after 15 minutes or so, if have other applications running. If I stop the browser and all other apps, and start a transfer of a big set of files (10GB), then I can keep the connection up for the full 10 GB transfer, which takes about an hour with the new driver. With the old drivers, it would stop every few minutes.

So I think there is progress, but I'm not sure the real problem is fixed yet. I'll also use this new driver for the next few days and try to characterize performance more completely.

I have downloaded the newest wifi driver from intel's page but the connectivity issues still persist.

In my case, I have installed the newest software & driver; Wireless_16.1.5_e64.exe (http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wtech/proset-ws/sb/CS-034041.htm), for more than a week. The wifi problem is basically gone. I got dropped out a couple times when staying in a room that gives 60% of the wifi signal quality. By the way, I have set "medium power saving" in the wireless adapter settings (not sure the setting will affect anything).

UPDATE: After using the new Intel driver for more than a week, I am generally pleased with the performance. I rarely get disconnects now, and have worked as much as two days straight without one. I did get another one yesterday for some reason, but after the connection was resestablished it performed flawlessly for a long time. Also, the speeds are up to reasonable levels now, as fast as all my other wireless devices in my home network. So I am at least 90% satisfied that this new driver fixes the bulk of the problem. It may not be perfect but it is definitely close.

I just want to provide an update. I have received communication that we are qualifying a new driver. I do not have an ETA at this time, but as soon as it is tested and qualified it will be available for download on the Acer support sites.

Just got the S7-392 yesterday and can't keep the internet connection for more than 15 minutes. It drops out and windows reports no internt access. I installed the latest intel drivers for the wireless card and that didn't help.
