Won't come back from sleep

I have an Acer Aspire TimelineX 5830TG with windows 7.

When it goes to sleep/hibernate, I can't turn it back on.

Buttons on the keyboard do not work.

Turning it on and off by pressing the power button doesn't work either.

The led on the power button comes on but the screen is blank, no power to he cd-rom and harddrive.

Tried the reset battery button, does not work.

Please HELP

Thanks.

Huhu, did you ever get it to start? If so, how?

acer took in for repairs already last year.

    still didnt fix it.

but now im out of the country, so it is difficult to send it to them.

the local acer support will charge since it's not in their system even still under warranty.

i tried draining the battery all together.

by letting the power button on all night, it seems to use the power.

even though there is nothing on the screen or any movement on the hardware.

the only thing that moves, is the fan.

after that sometimes, i can get it to turn back on using the adapter.

but this is not guaranty to work everytime.

tried not to have it go to sleep and to shut it down properly.

but still doing the same thing.

    any ideas?

would acer replace it with a new one and cover all the cost?

    thanks.

i take it you've gone into Control panel > Power Options > Advanced > and pulled

down the  sub menu for settings regarding what the unit does ?

If you're using W7 I would suggest you visit a site called Windows 7 Forum and

look at the top where the tutoroials are. You may find the answer for which

    you seek.

You can also adjust what the power buttons do in the Power Options window.

As well open up BIOS if you have experiance ! and look it over to see if something

in one of the windows there has been set up to stay asleep.

    yes i did.

but if the laptop was properly shutdown, shouldn't the laptop startup normally when i turn it on?

so i was thinking, this couldn't be a software issue.

basically, the hardware is not getting the power to turn on.

thanks for the help in advance.
