New R7 frequently shows "no battery is connected"

Hi, I've recently purchased a new R7 which has a problem with the battery. The battery seems to appear and disappear at random times. When it disappears it shows the "no battery is connected" message over the battery icon (which shows a battery with a red X).

This is really problematic when I have the laptop disconnected from the AC adapter because it effectively causes the computer to turn off at random times.

Is there anything I can do to fix this? Is it maybe a battery connection problem? I was hoping to upgrade the memory on this laptop, but I'm wonder if I'm not better off returning it first?

Thanks,

-Damien

Since you bought it recently, I would take it back for a refund if your return time hasn't been used up.

I may be too late to help you, damg, but this may help someone else: http://acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/32045

The two center screws may need tightening. My Torx-8 (I use to open 360 controllers) fits fine, and Anandtech also say the Torx T9 fits those screws.
