impossioble to get a live person referred to paid support automated responses?

I though this issue was resolved in the late 90's! I have a netbook in for repair and when i click on the auto generated email i received to check on status of it nothing happens, i checked from several browsers and bot pc/ mac no love, so i try to call acer to get an update, no love, th ebest i could get is a machine wanting my credit card information to pay for support! they aalready have my defective netbook now they want money for the privelage of asking where it is? garbage.

    oh yeah, i had to fight to get the netbook in for repair too, i bought it at walmart and when it started falling apart in the shade of my purchased extendedservice warrenty walmart was like, hands off no way, its under acer warrenty, so i call acer they are like, no way its a walmart thing, more  garbage, after begging and pleading my case acer finally acts like they are doing me a big favor and they accept to fix it, oh yeah, i have to flip the bill to get it shipped to the repair center too, guess acer prefers to do things a little differently than everyone else that just sends a prepaid box to make the experience a little less awful for the customer. now as i wait and wait  and wait there is no way to get a status on the repair.  a few things to change acer?  As far as a case study for poor customer service you guys are leading the way in that field for sure so kudos!

    I do not have personal experience with Acer return repairs.  However, I understood that one got a ticket number or job number or case number or some such identification number when returning and that there was a method of checking repair status with that number.  Do you have such a number?
