Blue screen of death trying to install Win7 over a formated Win8

I purchased a new Acer Aspire V3-571G loaded with Win8. After 30 minutes I had had enough and was looking for the Win7 disks. Started the install, formated the HD, got 3/4 way through the install and got the blue screen of death.

Purchased a new, clean HDD and installed to the laptop and tryed again with the same results.

Thanking you verry much for any advice.

Best Regards

Glen

Try to run the memory test from the windows CD. Enable the Advanced test.

I'm assuming you get the blue screen after the computer reboots, so second stage of the install.

Try to reset your computer and tap F8 just as it loads up until you get this screen F8

Choose "Disable automatic restart on System failure"

Now when you get the blue screen, it won't automatically reboot.

When you do, make sure to note an error code at the bottom of the screen. It should say something like "Stop: 0x########" (# being numbers and letters).

Let us know the numbers, and then we could tell what the blue screen means.

My guess, at the bios screen you should change the filesystem from ACHI to IDE or vice versa and then reinstall Windows.

Thank you for your reply, changed ACHI to IDE in the setup menu and tried a install, made no difference.

Tried selecting F8, managed to get it once after about 20 tries, selected not to reboot and pressed enter, tried a reinstall

the blue screen didn't stay on the screen.

I have since tried selecting F8 but cannot get it up again.

I hate to tell you this. When you installed Windows 7, you lost the drivers that are designed to work with your rig and Windows 8. Between reformatting and changing your hard drive, you probably have lost your recovery partition, as well as voiding your warranty.

Obviously, you should try the suggestions already given to you. Ifnone of them work, try contacting Acer for the recovery disks, and stick with Windows 8.

you could try clearing the BIOS by removing cmos battery or you can create a win 7 disc with the necessary drivers for you machine.......

i had this problem some years ago tryin to downgrade from Vista to XP. i had to use a software called nLite (http://www.nliteos.com/) and create a custom disc with the drivers for the motherboard. apparently the disc u are using does not have the drivers for your mother board.

also you can check this link about  How to integrate nForce SATA drivers?

    Good luck!
