Hi Everyone,

I originally started with a notebook and have moved on to the 5750 and I cannot fault the machine in anyway.

My question is I,ve purchased a spare copy of wins7 now if I do a clean install would wins load the drivers needed

or would I need to load the drivers from my driver backup disc that I made.

Thankyou Alan.

After reading some posts on similar subjects, Am I right in wins 7 will not format the drive as I need to do a key

config to get to the MBR format via clp then erasing each disc that way.Plus I,ll need my app disk to finalise the

driver installation have I got things nearly right or am I way off.

    Thankyou again Alan.

Depends on whether you do a clean (wipes first) or an upgrade (keeps files). Also if you install in a different partition (dual boot) you will need to add any drivers it cannot find automagically.

    Hi Padgett,

I really would like to do a drive format only having the 1 partition. I,ve already downloaded the drivers I just

need some help regarding booting with the media in the dvd drive, do I just change the bios to boot from the

cd as I would with my desktop setup, only this really is a first for me.

    Cheers Alan.

    hello,

If you have recovery format media then boot in cd priority by selection in bios safe mode.

    Good day

OK first what operating system does it have now ? With a 500GB drive why not have more than one partition ?

Second you will need to go into the BIOS setup if you do not have a Boot selection option at startup (F12 ?) and change the BOOT priority to boot from the CD-ROM first then you can install the new OS.
