start up trouble

My 4720 went battery low and dead when I was using. After that when connecting charger and power on no reaction is being given. Its just like a brick. Not even any light blinking including that of charger. Its not a abttery trouble. Need help

    It's possible that your elderly battery has failed. But here's a solution that works about 10% of the time:

     

    Turn off your rig, unplug it, and remove the battery. Now hold the Power button down for one minute. This will refresh the BIOS and the software program for the battery. Put it back together and see if it works.

     

    If this doesn't work (90% of the time, it doesn't) but your machine still runs well, then the most likely explanation is that your battery has failed. Every help site I have checked says that your battery has probably failed. There are a few more things you can try, though:

     

    1) Remove the battery and clean the contacts.

    2) Turn off your laptop but leave it plugged in all night to recharge.

    you could try removing battery and try starting machine on ac only. if it boots then you'd know for sure you need a battery!
