The original keyboard became damaged so I bought a new one for replacement.  However, in removing the ribbon cable from the motherboard, I broke the small retaining clip that holds the ribbon in place in the connector.  See Images...  I now cannon find a replacement for that clip and further, do not now know how to properly insert and secure the ribbon cable.  Any help would be muchly appreciated.

It has been my exp that once the clip breaks, it's bad news. Sometimes and I admit

very rarely, one can take tape and manage to secure the cable so it makes the

proper connection, but it IS rare. Other options are and they are pretty sad, are

using a USB keyboard plugged into one of the USB ports....or a used motherboard

from somewhere like ebay that can replace the one in it now.

It is a very expensive lesson in taking extreme care in undoing cables. One I have

learned the hard way as you can see. A real pain..

reinsert the ribbon cable in place and cover with a lid that was broken earlier.

You can use a little hot glue cooled so as not to damage the plastic and still can be removed again if necessary.

I hope it works for you as it works with mine.
