I have a recovery drive I made when I got the computer. I just replaced the HDD after the previous one had a head crash. When I try to recover the system the recovery says; "Unable to reset your PC- A required drive partition is missing.". I have tried formatting the new HDD but no avail.

Are you using the USB you made to do the recovery? The Windows tool that creates recovery media has both the recovery software and a recovery image that need to be copied. You may end up needing to order RCD's from Acer on this one.
