after restore activation windows 7

Hello Acer community.

I was wondering if anyone can help me.

I have a few acer aspire laptop computers. 1 is intel and my sons is an AMD.

So my friend also has the same AMD model as my son. His brother jeeked his hard drive. i tried for days to restore the OS from the recovery partition (as he did no have or make restore/recovery disks) But had no luck, even after using GParted's live CD to write zeros to the hard drive, i still could not get that jeeked drive to respond. So anyway, since my son had the exact same model and i made restore/recovery disks. I got an extra internal SATA hard drive and i used my recovery disks to resoter the computer. Voila, it now works again.

•So my question is, when i use SIW tool (by gabriel topala) i can read the windows activation key. And i see both my sons computer and the restored computer have the same winkey. I was worried that this could be a conflict, as i know microsoft does not like using the same authorization keys of it/their products.

But i looked further at my own intel acer laptop and noticed i have the exact same authorization key, too. So my question is, is that a blanket windows 7 authorization key, for all acer products. Or is SIW giving me the wrong information?

•Will i have problems with both these computers using the same restore?

any help would be appreciated as i know my friend would like to get his laptop back, so he can be a part of the WWW again, too.

Thank You

Ok, i think i figured out this by myself.

I see i found windows activation documents online. Which specify that windows 7 home premium, on an acer aspire laptop, all have the same winkey. I guess it is some type of blanket activation code.
