I have an Aspire 5742G for 3 years and it hasn't had any major problems before.
Since last week when I put my computer in sleep mode and tried to wake it up the screen would be black but everything else would be on. I hadn't downloaded anything or updated windows when the problem started and I tried to do a system restore but the old restore points were erased. I updated windows updates to see if that could fix it and the sleep mode worked fine for a day but today again the screen went black but this time it was while I was putting the computer in sleep mode not waking it up. Since I use the laptop for 7 hours daily I prefer putting it in sleep mode 2-3 times to give it a break but now i'm so confused about what to do. So i'm thinking of updating BIOS to see if it can fix it but I don't know how to properly do that and I don't know if I should since everything else in the computer works fine and idk if updating would solve anything so any help would be appreciately.
