Why doesn't Acer release the killer tablet the users want?

well, I understand that the competition on the mobile market is hard.

 

But Asus, Sony, Google etc. release great Android tablets for reasonable prices; why doesn't Acer succeed in doing this?

 

I'm sure MANY users would buy an Acer tablet with the following specs:

 

- 8 inch (like Acer A1; best compromise between portability and screen real estate)

- 4:3 aspect ratio (like A1 and iPad; best for websites, PDFs etc. - 16:10 is often unpractical, especially in landscape and with Android > 4.2

- 1600x1200 resolution IPS display, touchscreen very responsive like Nexus 7 or Samsung (and not like A700... )

- light, thin

- fast processor (like Snapdragon...)

 

This would blow the iPad mini out of the water, and it would be a huge success for Acer, even at a price point between $300 and $400, because that's what users WANT! No heavy and bulky 10" devices, no too-tiny 7" devices, no devices with **** resolutions or bad screens, no slow and unreliable devices!

Suspect because at that price point and size I'd rather have a Windows or OS/X or full Linux tablet than an Android. There are a number of things I just cannot do with Android (and iOS is even less capable but has its adherants).

 

One way to look at the difference in devices is those that can create their own apps and those that cannot. If you don't care then Android/iOS is fine.
