Have done very very light research on the subject but looks fairly easy to do booting from a flash drive or possibly the microsd(which would be ideal) .  Anyone do it yet? any tips? I'm doubting everything would work.. wifi/sound/touchscreen.. but i have no idea at this point.  Thought it might be fun to mess with a bit.. in fact if it did work I might actually use it.

Bluestacks is a better idea. The issue is that the W510 is a ventless/fanless design and needs power management to control temps. So far only Windows 8 has the needed Intel drivers. Since bluestacks run as a Windows app it is not an issue.

I have not beeen deeply into it (so far can do anything I want with Windows apps) but have heard it works - might do a search on "bluestacks".

Wow.. thanks for the heads up Padgett.. not sure how I missed that program but it's pretty awesome! I used it first on my Desktop computer corei7 etc....   the program had me login to my google account and all my purchased programs as well as all of google play was available.. I tried a few games.. Army of Darkness defense which is an awesome game and Night of the living dead defense and a few others as well as normal non game apps and they all worked flawelessly. I was thinking if this works on the w510 this opens up a whole new world on the w510 especially if the touchscreen works well with bluestacks.  So grabbed the 'ol w510 and installed but alas didn't start.. just a black screen that never loads android/markets. Padgett.. did you get it to even start? were you able to load any apps? Anyone care to give it a try? I had messed with my video drivers a while back as well as installed windows 8.1 so I'm wondering if that has anything to do with it.
