Help me, please!  My Windows programs are suddenly not even frickin' working and no one from Acer or Microsoft will help.  Suddenly over the last several months, my Window Media Player won't work, I cannot right click my "connected to" icon in the bottom right to discover other networks, many other Windows programs aren't working, and I keep getting the following messages:

“Microsoft Windows Search Indexer stopped working and was closed.  A problem caused the application to stop working correctly.  Windows will notify you if a solution is available.”  - Comes up immediately after computer is brought up and keeps popping up about every 5-10 minutes.

Another dialog box comes up with an x in a red circle.  At the top of the dialog box it says:  “CLMLSvc.exe – Bad Image” and in the box it says:  “C:\Windows\system32\dbghelp.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error.  Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support.”

Flash player keeps crashing, forcing me to reload videos upon playing.

Windows updates often install incorrectly.

Windows Media player does not work.  When clicking on the program, a box comes up that says:  “Windows Media Player is not installed properly and must be reinstalled.  Do you want to install the player from the Microsoft website?  Yes or No”

Windows movie maker doesn’t allow me to import or open a new file.

Now recently a dialog box is popping up that says at the top:  “Microsoft Windows”   and inside box:  “avgmfapx.exe stopped working and was closed.  A problem caused the application to stop working correctly.  Windows will notify you if a solution is available.”

God only knows what else isn't working on this stupid computer, but none of these *** at Acer or Microsoft will help.  I am beginning to believe that it's nothing more than a conspiracy to force consumers to buy Windows 8.  Because every time I go to the Windows website to update drivers for these programs for my Vista operating system, THERE ARE NONE!!!

Can anyone out there tell me what in the world is going on with this laptop???  I am ready to throw it in the trash, buy an Apple, ....

Judging by all of this it would seem that you have some sort of virus. Personally, I would do a fresh windows install. Get rid of AVG and install Microsoft Security Essentials, and at all costs, not buy an Apple product.
