Hi all,

my laptop of 3 years may have lost its HDD. Windows is not booting, and the e0recovery page just hangs at the waiting page.

I'm looking for an image i can use on a new HDD. anyone knows where I can get the image? it should include a copy of WIndows 7 64bit that came with my laptop.

Also, is it possible for me to use an SSD instead?

thanks!

    Hi Tommy,

the suggestion will not work in My situation since the hard disk is not working anymore. I have bought a new HDD, but i will need the recovery disk to reformat the new HDD, am I right?

Yes, you will need recovery media to reinstall on a new hard drive.

Following the links in the above article would lead you to all of the information you would need.

If you are in the USA, you can purchase recovery media from the Acer Store.

    Hi

I've tried the link and my serial number results in an "No RCD available for the entered Serial Number".

No, I don't live in US. I'm from Malaysia and there's no acer store for Malaysia or APAC  from the list.

Lizzam, at this stage, I would take it to a reputable repair shop. MAYBE they can re-install Windows 7 and get the necessary drivers from the Acer site.

    Thanks Vince.

I have already approached the support center for Acer in my area. while they are capable of doing so, the charge is quite high since the warranty has expired.

Currently I'm installing Windows on my own and installing the drivers separately, since I couldn't get my hands on another 1810TZ nor the recovery disk.
