Iconia W511 Huawei WLAN unstable

My inlaws just bought an Iconia 511. I have one myself as well, and i haven't had any problems with mine concerning the WLAN. But on theirs the HUAWEI Mobile Broadband keeps disappearing from the device manager and then reappear shortly after. It means that the connection falls out constantly.

I've upgraded the firmware and drives to the latest fro Acer's website, but nothing helped.

Only thing that seems to work right now is to disable the "Selective Suspend" feature on the the HUAWEI device.

Question is:

1. Is this a hardware malfunction for which I should tell the to send the tablet back (they've had it for1 day so far)

2. Are there better drivers from HUAWEI that can be used that might fix the problem?

3. How much extra battery does the disabled "Selective Suspend" drain?

Any input on these is much appreciated Smiley Happy

The WLAN device should not be appearing and disappearing from Device Manager.

You appear to have already attempted the logical software attempts to rectify the issue.

It may be hardware, but I would not be able to make a definitive diagnosis over a forum.

I would suggest contacting your local Acer service center for hardware assistance.
