Getting rid of Acer e-power management

I have an old Travelmate 4233which I have found reliable for 7 years. I wish to disable hibernation, and delete hiberfil.sys to save discspace. I cannot get to Windows power options because Acer e-power is in the way, and it does not itself have an obvious option to do this.

Further to that, can anyone suggest how I might proceed?

I am using Windows XPsp3
