hdd master pw bios

Hi,
I am having problems with my bios Phoenix in Acer Aspire 7110 I bought in 2007. I contacted acer before online and by phone , without any result though.

Online forums wont help because of the sensitive implicationsm which I can understand. So you are pretty much my last resort to solve this.
The thing is, I had set all the pw in the security window in the biosmbut then changed everything and cleared them all. I thought all was well untill I started it up again and I was asked for a’ Primary master user password’ which I had no idea about. The pw I just had cleared -they were all the same- didnt work either.

I have been looking for a solution on the web but without any result. The best answerI got somewhere was to open the motherboard and then switch the cmos battery and or jumper, but I dread anything drastic like that- I just fear I will mess things up. How should I proceed? Can you help?

I contacted Tosieba, but they send me right back to you.

with kind regards

    Hi annajn,

The best aadvice I can give you is in an Acer Knowledge Base article that deals with this issue. Please check the information at this link to see if it helps.

I encountered same problem us you and solve it by clearing or disconnecting the cmos battery in the mobo. but in your case you should bring it to the authorized service center. tnx
