I have recently purchased additional compatible memory to upgrade from the 4 GB of RAM that came with my system to 8 GB RAM (max available).  We removed the case cover and were able to see an open memory slot without having to remove the DVD - just had to unplug it, snap in the 1 stick of 4 GB Ram, replug in the DVD player - pretty simple right?  Well, when I tried to restart the computer with the new memory in it the computer went into a very quick BIOS message stating "Bad Sector".  I'm not a whiz when it comes to BIOS at all.  The Windows OS (Win 7 - Home Professional) ran a "System Repair" immediately.  I just don't know what I am doing wrong.......??????

Some thoughts, which the tekkies at Tiger Direct state does not matter, there are four slots for RAM - original install has one 2 GB RAM in the #1 slot and one 2 GB RAM in the #3 slot.  I was attempting to add one 4 GB RAM in slot #4 (the slot visible without removing the CD-Rom).

Can anyone help please???
