Z5610 touch not working after clean install back to Win 7

After a miserable experience with Win 8 on my Aspire Z5610 I opted to go back to the original way it was, sadly it stopped being a touch screen when I upgraded to Win 8 and going back to Win 7 did not bring it back!

I have searched and search and done everything found here and elsewhere, including the installing the most current IdeaCom Touch Driver, I went into the pen settings and tinkered in there, went in the devices and saw no "!" (however it does say "generic PnP" as my monitor, is that correct? ) but to no avail, nothing brings back the touch ability. I have tried callibrating, removing, reinstalling ... but nothing works, any help woyuld be AWESOME!!!

reload the system using recovery media, not retail windows

I just finished doing a clean install with ACER disks and now feel I wasted the money buying the system disks and upgraded shipping ... Same result as my restore disks ... NO TOUCH. I thought maybe my restore disks were wonky but it would seem they were ok. I have tried to do the calibrate and the pen and touch settings but still no touch. I even cleaned off the screen but nothing works. Prior to the windows 8 install the touch was super sensitive (a paper touching the screen was enough to set it off). Back to the original Win7 and no luck

if system restore does not work, may have hardware problem that would need service
