Black gap around edges on T272HL touchscreen monitor

HI,

Just bought the 27 inch Acer touchscreen (T272HL) and am having what seems like an odd issue. I am running the monitor with a PC running at 1920x1080 (so full HD) and yet on the monitor itself, while the display is very crisp, it does not fill the full LCD portion of the screen. There is a black frame 1 inch wide on the sides, .5 inch on top and bottom. DOesnt seem like the driver provided supports higher resolutions, I just want the HD to fill the entire screen (after all I would have bought the 23 inch otherwise). Is there some "stretch" or aspect ratio function I am missing like on my LED LCD TV ?

One additional detail - if I connect it via VGA instead of HDMI, problem goes away and it uses the full screen area.

I have the same problem on the 23 inch S235HL, however mine does not work with vga either

so i tried two different hdmi cables no luck, all sorts of suggestions such as overscan to 0 etc. nothing NO full screen.

Then i tied the sugessted vga just to try it out but no luck, again no full screen. It misses out on a centimer either side and top.

I spent some time on the chat with acer and no luck, they could not help except suggesting to try other monitor, easy said as where do i get another 23 inch ips full hd monitor from Smiley Happy

Some say its an issue with ati radeon, others say its an issue with the hdmi......it is strange though that by using the VGA connection it still did not work while for many others either the overscan to 0 worked or going back to VGA.

Now i use my bluray drive and I need the HDMI to work for several reasons...........is this simply a new monitor and ATI hasnt provided a proper update to its driver or do we need to buy a different card all together.

Or is this an ACER problem, if so they should know about it and explain

If i dont find a solution soon this monitor is going back! And will demand somecompensation for wasting my precious time Smiley Tongue

I found the problem............I ordered a S235HL Monitor...if you see the image of this monitor it shows a clear present of a bezel around the screen!

However even though the box says S235 and the monitor too, I seem to have the S236Hltmjj

Of course on the S235 the screen will come right to the edge of the screen just fine but due to the thin bezel with glass actually covering one centimeter on the S236 looks wrong.........hahaha only to find out it is like that, I had three chats with the acer staff even send them pictures. They did not help, lucky I found more info and will now shop for a new monitor that goes edge to edge
