Hello to all. I am very confused.

I just bought an Iconia W7 tablet. Btw, I am new to the Acer community. The general idea was to use a tablet when travelling. It has a keyboard - which is great for people like me. However, I would like to connect a mouse - I am addicted to using a mouse for navigation purposes. There appears to be no port to connect the mouse. Can anybody help me? I would be very grateful. Best wishes.

I have seen a W700 referred to as a W7 is that what you have ? Is it running Windows 7 or Windows 8 ? If so it should be able to support either a USB/wireless or a bluetooth mouse.

Thank you. It is a W700 64GB machine, bought several hours ago. It runs Windows 8. The sales guy (in Singapore airport) told me that it will support a mouse - I could be wrong because his English was not very good, and I was in a hurry.

I am trying to use my standard mouse with it - it does not work. Should I go to a computer shop and try to buy a bluetooth mouse? The only problem is that I am now in Uzbekistan - everybody speaks Russian - I have to be very specific about what I am wanting to buy.

Try with anther mouse or get a bluetooth one, which should work good.

The USB port on he left side of the tablet works for a USB mouse, either wired or wireless. You can also use a bluetooth mouse. If the mouse you bought is wireless it shouls have come with a USB dongle the would plug into that USB port. It would not work withoit he dongle plugged in. Of course, after you've used it a while, the touchscreen gives you all the mouse functionality too.

if you are going to use it on the go, I would suggest looking at a Bluetooth mouse as it will save the lone USB port for other devices (such as flash drive)
