Acer S230HL multimonitor compatibility issue!

I already had two S230 HL monitors bought seperately, working nicely as a pair.

Two weeks ago I decided to upgrade my computer with two Asus Geforce 650GTX display-adapters set up in a SLI-configuration. I also added another S230 HL monitor for the purpose of running 3D-application with Nvidias PhysX surround technology. ( S230 HL X 3)

The new display-adapters work fine, but not the new monitor. It is the exact same model (and obviously brand) but I just can't find a new single unit that is properly configured for whitepoint: Wherever there is black, it appears as various shades of grey - there is no definite black point.

I tried the following:

* Color-calibrated with Windows 7

* Set values manually with the monitor

* Accessed service menu and made sure settings were the same for both monitors

After returning the third set the shop had enough of me so I settled for an LG instead. Now, I can't take advantage of Nvidias surround technology, because all monitors need to be of same make and model.

I am puzzled as to why Acer has changed the configuration and/or hardware of the S230HL. These days, many are migrating towards multimonitor-setups: Changing physical capabilities of a monitor-product and keeping the model name is bordering on hostile towards the customer.

The below picture speaks for itself: The rightmost monitor is the new one - impossible to adjust or calibrate to work with the other two S230HL's.

Why would Acer shower the market with a product that hasn't been tested for whitepoint!?
