Aspire 5741 dead HELP PLEASE!!

I am really hoping someone will be able to help me.

 

Turned on my aspire 5741 to discover it had crashed completely - I could only access the BIOs which reported that my hard drive was gone.  I took the following steps:

 

1.   Attempted to reinstall windows 7 - got as far as selecting hard drive but as there was none I got no further.
2.  Flashed BIOS using USB with new bios drivers as instructed via internet - now have black screen with fan and power operating
3.  Removed and reinstalled hard drive - nothing
4.  removed and reinstalled RAM - nothing
5.  installed hardrive from another acer machine - nothing
6.  removed battery and power cord and held power button down for 60 seconds then restarted - nothing

I am now left with a machine that boots to a black screen - power and fan working.  Can't boot from anything (USB CD) as I can't access the bios screen,

 

Your help will be greatly appreciated.

UPDATE.... BIOS flash finally worked but laptop now continually restarting before I can get to BIOS menu.  Help please!!!
