Aspire v3 Crystal Eye and Cam not working on Windows 8

I keep getting a repetative error on my new laptop. It says "Acer  Crystal Eye found a new I webcam. Do you want to begin using it?" I l click yes. Then immediately it closes I get a message saying that the connection with the camera was lost.

I have checked the device manager and the driver is up to date. It works about once evey ten times i click on yes, but it only works for a second before I get the error all over again.

 I am also having problems with the cam app. I just purchsased this laptop...Any suggestions?? Thank you.

    I'm sorry that you're experiencing issues with the webcam. 

     

    I'm not understanding why you are continually getting a message that the system is finding a new device.  That should not be happening.

     

    My first suggestion would be to recover the system to factory defaults, to eliminate any software issues that may have occured.

    If that does not resolve the issue, it may be a hardware issue with the camera, which would require a call to your local Acer service center.
