Acer Aspire 5920g Screen Problems - HELP!!!

Hello Everyone

 

The screen of my Aspire 5920g (running Vista Home Premiun SP2) has gone haywire.  There are artefact everywhere and the background in some applications is pink/purple.  On the windows home screen background it looks like there is snow everywhere (grainy).

 

I have two identical 5920g notebooks (the other works fine) and have gone through extensive problem solving to try to identify the problem.

 

I have:

 

Swapped screens (both the LCD panel separately and then the complete lid/screen unit).

Swapped graphics cards

Swapped fans.

Updated windows

Updated drivers

 

Asolutely nothing has worked and the problem remains on the original machine irrespective of what component is swapped.

 

This would seem to indicate that the problem is either somewhere in:

 

The system settings

The graphics settings

The graphics card socket

The motherboard

 

Or something else entirely.

 

I'm absolutely out of ideas.  Can anyone help?
