Re: Out of warranty Laptop repairs are Outrageous for Aspire Vero AV15-51-7617
Hi atg666
The current price for an original Acer motherboard (Acer MAINBOARD W/CPU.I3‑1115G4.OB8GB.UMA) at Zandparts is high, and that’s just the board itself, excluding labor. A reputable PC repair shop may be able to attempt a board‑level repair, or in some cases they can source a Chinese clone board at much lower cost, but quality and reliability can vary.
Given the expense, another practical option is to auction your unit for spare parts on eBay (screen, keyboard, SSD, battery, etc. often sell well) and then put the proceeds toward a new Windows 11 laptop. This usually works out more cost‑effective than replacing the entire mainboard.

Re: Aspire 517-58M Laptop CANNOT update "Device Enabling Service Driver" through AcerSense
Hi John_191
Avoid using AcerSense for updates — it’s not reliable for BIOS or firmware. Instead, check the Acer Support page for your exact model periodically to see if a new BIOS or firmware version has been released: https://www.acer.com/us-en/support
Also, in Windows, go to Settings > Windows Update > Advanced options and enable “Receive updates for other Microsoft products”. This ensures you’ll automatically get the latest Acer firmware through Windows Update when available.
