  • Hi guddi123 Recovery disks are no longer included with laptops. They all have a built in program that allows you to burn your own, as well has having a recovery partition. Try Acer customer services in your region to see if they still have a copy of the recovery disks for your model, however there may be a chance that it…
  • As you've updated to Windows 10, I can only assume that there is no driver for your particular model. How about emailing the vendor to see if they're going to produce one?
  • Use System restore, to go back to a point where the touchpad worked. I'd also change your "BIOS settings" & change it back.
  • OK, unusual one this! I'd now suggest to use system restore, to back to a time BEFORE this message occurred.
  • Well, if after trying the battery reset AND different chargers, then you may have a motherboard issue/fault. Take it to your local PC repair store for them to check.

  • How about using system restore, to go back to a point when it was working? If it doesn't make any difference, then it could point to an hardware issue, or a loose connection....
  • Well, it's great that it has passed & not failed. I'd still be a little wary though. Past experience has taught me that despite a program and even SMART data reporting everything is OK, hard drives have failed Perhaps there is a bug with the Care Center program?? Are there an other issues that you are aware of - that could…
  • Great, glad you're now fixed!
  • OK. Then coincidently, another program that you have installed, also uses the same name. Have you recently installed or uninstalled any programs?
  • I agree with JackE - try rubbing alcohol or a special DVD/CD cleaner. Basically a "cyclic redundancy check" means it can't read the data, so if cleaning it doesn't help, then contact support & explain. They should send a replacement disk FOC
  • Hello Acer's website does not state your models as being compatible, so it is a 50-50 chance on whether you can update to Windows 10. Microsoft's latest build may well be more compatible that the previous version you tried. In the first instance, image your entire disk of each PC. To do this you need a spare hard drive(s)…
  • Hello RCW Updater is the name of the program that Acer installs to check for Acer-related program/driver updates. It seems as if yours has become corrupted, so go to Control Panel> Programs And Features & look for a program called Acer Updater. Click on it & select Uninstall (or double click). Once unistalled, restart your…
  • Hello Firstly, make sure you have connected an external drive to your laptop. Then go to the PC Settings App & select Update & recovery from the left pane, and then select File History. You should then see a slider that you can move to ON.
  • Hi A shadow on the screen could mean that the LCD panel may be at fault, or perhaps the cable that internally connects it to the motherboard could be at fault. If your model has an external monitor connection (like a VGA socket or HDMI out) then connect it to another monitor or your TV to confirm. If the screen is OK, then…
  • Hi Have your tried other DVD's in your laptop? Sometimes DVD drives can be a little fussy & not read all disks, especially if they're home-burned ones. Will it play CD's OK, or do they not play either? VLC player should play DVD's without any problems, so perhaps it may be a laser issue with your laptop's DVD drive. If you…
  • Hi Mike Download & run Speccy. This program will tell you the Vendor of your webcam (plus other components of your laptop). Then go to the vendors website - they should have a support page with all available drivers. Download & install it, and it should then work. Just create a system restore point in case things go wrong.
  • Hi Truckermikemct I have the same problem, but only when I play an entire album. If I play songs individually the problem isn't there, so I can only presume it's a bug in WMP for Windows 7. I too, never experienced it in previous Windows. Have you tried playing an album in Windows Media Center instead? (Not tried it…
  • I'd agree your PC isn't a gaming model, other than simple graphic games. With regards to burning out your motherboard, that could happen only if you installed a power hungry graphics card with a low wattage power supply. All that would happen if you tried to run a graphic heavy game is: 1. It simply wouldn't install - you…
  • You could also try a USB sound card as a short term solution. Amazon has a selection at all sorts of prices!
