Yeah, @Magara and @Marshall0904 , I am a bit surprised that there is such a long time and since the last BIOS update, undervolting or not. Personally I do not have the urge to go undervolting at the moment*. PH16-71 is not however not without bugs so I expected to see more updates. I wouldn't have guessed that Acer gave up…

(off topic) @Puraw re: TBT4 PD being limited to 100 W; I am using a USB power source of high quality and I would expect proper handshake between the laptop and the charger negotiating the apropriate voltage and ampere DC, wouldn't you? The point with a very power capable high quality usb trafo is, to me, rigidity and…

@Puraw Thanx! That answered my question! And to answer you : Yes, I was using laptop > usb > dock (injected with own power supply, hence the error message) > Display Port > Display (with own power supply) And, yes, the BIOS 1.16 i shy of two weeks from one year old!

@ mod # please if possible correct post description / heading, is "PN16-71", should say "PH16-71" (it is regarding the Predator Helios 16 laptop) thx

{PH16-71 Predator Helios 16} @Puraw @StevenGen OFF TOPIC on usb-chargers, power brick Hey, guys! How's it going. I. [off topic] @Puraw @StevenGen So, thanks for your concern regarding usb chargers. If I would choose to use usb-c to charge my PH16-71 unit, my go to would be my GaN 300 W usb-c charger over a 1 meter Belkin…

hey @StevenGen ! Whats up So, the use case in my original Post is: running the laptop with AC power, that is the 'barrel' connection. Sorry if my English was unclear on that point. I have not intention to power the computer over USB in this case. Hence, my original questions are: 1. I assume this is not harmful to the…

@Puraw , Hi! i. a) Answer: Can't remember if I've tried both usb-c ports. Could be, maybe, maybe not. Might be only the one to the right since that would be closer to the docking station I use. b) How come, do you think it would matter wich of the two usb-c ports? ii. Clarification, a) as I tried to describe in the…

Thanks @StevenGen! I'll read in detail later on, now about to eat!

Hey, @StevenGen ! Re yout Q, A: Correction; Helios model PH16-71, not !PN16-71 (erroneous indicated in original post subject heading)
-
Hey Puraw! Nice to see you again, kindly giving me answers! I'll get back to you later, about to eat! Short answer your question re: 24h2 - right now I'm not sure if I used the ISO, I simply followed Microsofts instructions [link] after MS told me my computer was ready for 24h2, straight forward, no hassle. I think i used…

@freeAppz re "Btw, when I download PS from Acer website and install PS it redirects me after installed setup.exe to MS Store for another download that cant be found if I search for it on MS store?" Goog question! Did you find how to search for predatorsense in Microsoft Store?
-
@Puraw Ah, a so called 'meatball menu' :) Thanx!

(@mod ok thanks I will insert model name in title in future - interesting though it seems I am unable to edit the post myself…?) #ot

Shoutout and huge thanks to @AnhEZ28 ! "You can try turning off the laptop, unplugging the charger, and holding the power button for 15 seconds to do a power reset." IT WORKED!! Previously I had only tried holding for 10 seconds, but this solved the issue! Thanks again!

Found a way to reflash? I'm having problems and want to reflash to 1.16 or rollback to earlier fw. on my Predator 16 (PH16-71) /// EDIT: I am not booting with LAN, so I guess according to @StevenGen I shouldn't have flashed up to 1.16 in the first place!
-
Thanks @AnhEZ28 ! I'll try the 15 seconds when I am at my PH16-71. I already tried that, yesterday, setting all BIOS to default but the issue prevails. Thanks mate. // EDIT: P.s. #BIOS …. I do, however, consider rolling the BIOS update back to ver. earlier than 1.16 and the back agin. //

@StevenGen I'd love to see more discussion on this and I think it's a topic worthy its own thread! Cheers.

@Puraw "Note that Acer stopped 80% battery limiting options for the last Acer Care versions." O.T. but I'm gonna go ahead stick my neck out here and say… no not really :) I would lean towards disagreeing on you in that regard. See, I've used that function, in Acer care latest ed. I'm aware of, twice, today. [EDIT: ver.…

Yes, I do edit the registry, so far so good :) O.T. hoax or not, as mentioned, increasing from 80% to full 100% still did not keep PH16-71 from denying power up whilst on battery (100%) alone without power cable plug. It' be nice to be able to power up the computer without power cable if need be.

P.s. on meassures: Also tried disabling/enabling Windows quick startup/boot from option but that did not help.
