Have you updated the BIOS to the newest version. If not, please do so. Update your Nvidia and Intel HD graphics drivers. Download HWiNFO and run 'Sensors', while the laptop is under heavy load for example while playing a demanding game and send a screenshot of the CPU and GPU temperatures.

If you are in the United States, you should have little to no trouble obtaining the mounting kit if it is not already inside the laptop, and the warranty would only void if you break something while installing it, which is extremely unlikely to happen.
