Why does my new computer show "No Bootable Device" or have no video on the screen?

Certain newer Western Digital solid-state drives equipped with built-in data retention technology may enter a self-repair mode. During this process, the system might display a 'No Bootable Device' error or show no video output. This typically occurs during system startup while the self-repair operation is in progress.

Users who experience this behavior should perform the steps below to resolve this issue.

Wait at least 30 seconds after the "No Bootable Device" message or No display symptom appears, then proceed to step 2 below.
Press and hold the power key for five seconds to turn the computer completely off.
Power the system and see if it boots properly.
Repeat this procedure until the system boots to Windows. It should only take a few times.
Once your computer boots up, you should update to the latest BIOS for your model to prevent this message from appearing again.
