Acer Aspire V3-372 Stuck at 34% even with new Battery!?

Hey everyone, I bought an old Acer Aspire on eBay. The description said the battery was faulty and it only works with the charging cable. So I replaced the battery (permanently installed). Since then nothing has changed, the laptop recognizes the battery but as soon as you unplug the cable it goes off (including BIOS reset). The battery is recognized in Windows and Linux but remains / is permanently at 34%. Can I still repair this somehow?
