TC281 A12 desktop and am having issues with my mouse

I have a TC281 A12 desktop and am having issues with my mouse. It works on some items and not on others. Is there a device driver for the mouse I can reload? It is difficult to explain the problem but I will try. If I click on a desktop once it appears to work normally by giving me the chance to rename the program. Double click should and does take me to the program but still leaves the opportunity to rename the program. It works fine on the internet and email but sometimes works on programs that I might be working in but on others it doesn't. It has the pointer and a blue circle like it is trying to do something but that is where it stays. I can close as normal. I am trying to prevent a complete rebuild because of a mouse issue.
