Acer Predator G3-605-QYEZ020 with Gigabyte GTX 960 (GM206, 4GB)

I have recently bought a Predator G3-605-QYEZ020, which I use as my main workstation. Since I'm using this PC with a 4k display, the built in NVIDIA GeForce GTX745, 4GB GDDR3 GPU doesn't support the 60 fps I actually want.

 

Is it possible to upgrade my PC with a Gigabyte GTX 960 (GM206, 4GB) GPU, which supports Displayport and 4k @ 60 fps. Does anyone have experience in installing such a GPU into a Acer Predator G3-605-QYEZ020?

    Hallo Sikopp,

     

    das sollte kein Problem darstellen. Eventuell musst du den Secureboot im Bios Deaktivieren, aber von der Hardwarekompatibilität spricht nichts dagegen.

    Hello Sikopp,

     

    thats not a problem. You can use the GTX 960 in your Acer G3-605. The Hardware is compatible.

    Possibly the Secureboot in bios must be disable to make it work.

    Danke tausend für die Antwort. Ich habe mir eine ASUS STRIX GTX 960 besorgt. Ist noch etwas kleiner. Die Installation hat ohne Probleme funktioniert.
