I have purchased the same eRecovery drive from the ACER Store but it refuses to work on my w510. My W510 is only the 32gb model and this USB recovery drive insists on installing 5 partitions to the 32gb drive then the entire process fails because there's not enough room on it to work the way the Acer Store has it set up. Please if you can provide ANY help I'd be grateful. Thanks - C

Hi, You know that is what I thought it did but since I am no computer tech, I was not sure. I coudn't figure out what happened to 30 gbs. I am still looking for answers. I cant understand why it is so hard to take something off a computer that never had it in the first place. I down loaded a program called Partition Master, since it was a free trial it took it off and put it right back on because it was only a trial. I sure hate to pay for something like that? Did you see the answer I got first or before yours? Let me know. Is so , did you try it? I have not tried it yet but they advised me it was not a good thing to take off but since it did not come with it, then it is advisable to me. I have to read it again but why dont you take a look at it, I will tomorrow. Maybe we can help each other since were getting no where. I will let you know if I can do it, visa versa. Thanks for letting me know where my memory went, but mine did not fill up my memory yet, as many times as I recovered it, I am really sick of that process. I am using a Surface pro know, but want to give my husband the W510, it is not bad for what it is. If you get another tablet, get a used S. Pro, it is really nice, fast, powerful, but not worth the new price of 700 or more. just dont get below 128gb, I learned my lesson, 86gb free is more like it. let me know if anything works that you try, and i will do the same. I am not giving up.

Download an oem image of windows 8.1 instead.
Put it on a usb using this tool: http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/html/pbP
I know it says windows 7 but trust me, it works for windows 8 too =)
It does take som fiddling since you have to download and install all drivers from acers home page instead of having them bundled but you will save both space and time by doing it this way. Best of all -you don't have to uninstall all apps and games they bundle with their recovery CDs/DVDs
