Have a choice: can either buy a powered USB DVD player, or transfer the CDs and/or DVD to an external bootable drive (are several threads on what you need to do).

hello , please advice how to send recovery cd to external drive (pendrive) thanks

you may be able to restore it from recovery partition unless you did OS upgrade. make sure you have at least 10gb free on disk or you will get a warning and restore will not proceed. go to change pc settings; update & recovery in win 8.

In general, Windows will only boot from a fixed drive (rotating or SSD) and not a removable drive. The only flash drives that I know can be made bootable are Workspace drives.
