How big is Windows 8.1 update? I'm asking 'cause I only got about 3gb free space on my W510. The store says the update is 2,84gb but is that just for the installation?

it was 3.6 last time I did it.  The 2 gig one was early on, they added updates within a few days to the 3.6 and that was several weeks ago.

That puts me in a tough spot. How do I get more space? I have 32gb W510 with nothing but Chrome and Office 2013 installed. The windows eats up all my space and more with every update.

After updating there will be more space actually. Maybe you could get rid of chrome, do the update, and then get chrome back after the update?

There are ways to download an iso if you have the ability to use an external drive (I'm not aquainted with your unit).  Go to http://www.eightforums.com/ and do some searching, there are threads on how to use it.
