Hi, the power plug only seems to make contact for the last 1/8th to 1/16th of an inch. Is it just this one or are they all like that? When plugging it in, I can tell when it makes contact as the screen brightens and that's only happening for the last 1/8" to 1/16" of travel. As a retired Engineer (Electronics and Mechanical) that does not seem good. Only had this a few days but already, the Surface Pro 3 is beckoning. Now if I can only get the purse-string manager to take a week off... Thoughts?

OK a Switch 10, I do not have one but have seen some reports that the power cord connection does not feel right.

Luggable, eh? Me too, and a Compaq "portable." Also had a Hyperion, they WERE sweet.

I started programming personal computers back in the mid 70s.

Built my own Z80 with a soldering iron. Seem to think it was called a Northstar or something like that.

It had nine-buttons and eight lights on the front for programming a Byte, one-bit at a time.

Can you hijack your own thread ?

At the time the big three were Compaq, Columbia, and Corona, IBM was making it dificult for third parties to build pcs (why every video card has the letters "IBM" at 1Eh). I chose the Columbia because it was available with an amber screen and I was sick of green phosphor. Later the built in BIOS debugger proved very useful.
