Re: Button issues with Acer Aspire Switch

I've been using mine fairly heavily over the last month and have never seen the issue. It is possible mine has had the cable mod, since I received my Switch directly from Acer right about the time they were testing the fix.

Re: Button issues with Acer Aspire Switch

Hi

Unfortunately I also have issue with Start button stuck :/ But I'm not sure it's hardware problem-after shutdown and turning on everything is working correctly again.

I hope that Acer will figure out some solution very soon.

Re: Button issues with Acer Aspire Switch

I thought the BIOS update had done the trick for me too, but the problem returned soon after. I wish you luck!

Re: Button issues with Acer Aspire Switch

I love this thing but the button issue is really annoying. I looked through about 10-15 pages of this thread but couldn't find any details on where to get this fixed. All I saw was a local service center. Or is there a guide somewhere on fixing it myself?

Re: Button issues with Acer Aspire Switch

I had mine fixed 2 weeks ago by Acer Service (Germany) after following this thread for months.

So far the problem hasn't returned. *fingerscrossed*

And... after all... thanks Acer.

Re: Button issues with Acer Aspire Switch

There are essentially two steps to the fix. The first (BIOS update) you can do yourself, the second (cable rerouting) pretty much requires you ship it back to Acer.

Re: Button issues with Acer Aspire Switch

I found this video on youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S7HDfawIgFo) and the advice works and solve my button problem:

  1. Detach tablet from keyboard dock
  2. Shutdown the Windows
  3. Capacity touchscreen is very sensitive to oil or sweat traces, I advise you to clean the screen with lense or glass cleaner.
  4. Touch and hold the Windows buttons and press the Power button to turn on the tablet
  5. Keep touching the Windows button until your tablet turned-on and the lock screen shown.

My buttons back to normal now, and I hope the problem will permanently vanished.
