although I also have that problem with the touchpad.....its just not the most annoying one to report so I thought we try to fix the major ones first and go from there ![]()
....this seems hopeless though

Could we have an update on what acer is currently doing to fix this issue? So far I have not seen any official word about this issue on the main site. Even if we do send it in for repair, many comments in this thread stated that a repair / replacement did nothing to solve the issue.
Will there be a recall? Or at least some feedback of what exactly is going on at your end?

I've just bought the Aspire Switch 10 SW5-011-14TZ on 24 Jul 2014 in Singapore Challenger Store. The Windows button on the tablet is not responding after a day of use.In addition, the volume button has weird respone : volume up causes the Ease of Access Narrator toggle on and off, which usually requires a Windows + Volume Up combo to work ; volume down dims the screen.
Please update us once a solution is found. Thank.

I bought the Switch 10 on Friday rather than the ASUS T100 based on it's display and tablet mounting flexibility. Then I read this forum and returned it unopened the next day.
This sounds very much like what happened when Canon released the SX280 camera last year with great specs for a long zoom pocket camera including full HD video. It turned out that using the video mode brought on the battery low warning light almost immediately although turning the camera off and on, reset the warning and showed a fully charged battery. Canon promoted a firmware fix which merely delayed the onset of the problem by a couple of minutes. It still left the user not knowing when the battery would actually be depleted in video mode.
While the Switch 10 looks better than the T100, if it doesn't work properly as discussed here, the T100 may be the better choice.

I have noticed another issue with my Switch 10.
Every now and then the keyboard completely stops responding while the touchpad and its buttons still working.
When this occur it doesn't matter if I disconnect and reconnect the keyboard but a re-boot is what is needed for this issue, at least I don't need a cold start to fix this issue.

But why would they replace the LCD screen? That doesn't make sense... Can somebody from Acer explain the solution you claim to have found?
Julho
I guess the LCD display replacement have to do with the so called " Zero Air Gap technology" where from what I understand the LCD and the touch glass is glued together which makes it hard to replace only the touch glass.
