the BX270H ACER MONITOR HAS A FEW ISUES WITH BUILT IN OSD PANEL AND ALSO DRIVER ISSUES WITH WINDOWS 8.1 PRO 64BIT AND ALSO 10.

the osd panel on monitor the auto function does not work. the setting of display port to use does not work

evry time monitor goes into hibernation or switches off. it comes on and goes through every single port before switching on fully and being of any use. so setting display port to use does not work.

so thats two functions with erros.

there seems to be very limited fuinctions available as most just seem to get skipped by when you try and access them in settings on osd panel.

also monitor goes into hybernation far to fast and spend more time waiting on it coming back to correct screen every few minutes when it hibernates. takes far too long and hibernates far to fast.

it has no connection to hibernation , screen save , blank screen switch off setting in computer power management.

the driver with it for windows 8.1 pro 64 bit is not digitally assigned and the communication between pc and monitor via driver is not working as it should be. it does not see the eeid info of monitor and does not allow full function use.

now this will be a big problem when win 10 starts as it will ignore monitor.

please can we do something about constant long wait from switch on to seeing screen as monitor does not and should not need to go through each display port connector.

it also should not hibernate or switch off so fast.

spend far to much time trying to get screen back when working with it and doing paperwork ready for transfer to pc. but screen shuts down. even when my pc has never shut down , never hibernate for screen monitor.

its its own inbuilt function

and two so far of these functions dont work auto key to auto setup and also choose display port settings. and if include its constant wish to hibernate and shutdown every five minutes thats a big problem.

but if acer is not prepared to get the driver digitally assigned with microsft then the monitor will loose all its capabilities and be seen as a plain old pnp generic. los of full functions and that could be part of some of the curent issues as its not even digitally assigned for win 8.1

help please.

    Neroztatek,

Hopefully I can try to clear up some of your concerns.

If you go into the OSD there should be a way to set the input as Display Port, that may help cut down on the monitor trying to detect a signal when it comes out of sleep. Another thing that might be causing that cycling to occur is the signal being sent to the monitor from what it is connected to is taking longer than normal.

The monitor goes into power saving mode based on the settings of what it is connected to. If the power settings are set to put the monitor to sleep after not being used for 5 minutes, that is what it will do. Please check your power settings for the monitor and adjust as needed.

As far as a digitally signed driver, we do have an article that discusses a work around for that.
