Keyboard malfunctions - Reload driver?

I have an Acer Aspire E1-771 laptop running on 8.1.  A couple of years old.  It has been doing the below for a year-or-so, but I usually use a remote keyboard at home.  Now more transient at work so I need the keyboard to work properly.

With a USB-connected remote keyboard all works well.

Disconnecting and using only the laptop keyboard I get all sorts odd spurious actions, eg: most actions using the ctrl and another key (ie cut, or paste, undo, etc) results in Word/Internet double spacing of the paragraph, the addition of '12'...' into the text and the 'open file' in Explorer then opening!!  Or various other weird combinations.

Think I need to reload keyboard driver.  How?  Please

The driver for the keyboard is built into Windows 8, so we do not offer a driver download. It sounds like the keyboard may have a hardware problem or damage from a spill. Either way, the keyboard would need to be replaced. We would suggest contacting technical support in your region for further assistance with this issue.
