Aspire 5532 uses generic/microsoft old monitor, sound and webcam drivers after clean Win 10 install
Hi,
I initially upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 but then due to a virus thought it will be good to have a clean install of Windows 10. After the installtion the first problem I faced was the touchpad not scrolling but that was resolved by downloading the Windows 8 touchpad driver.
I then went to the device manager and looked at the various drivers and many seem to be generic or old for example it states : Monitor Generic PnP, Monitor Driver details: Microsoft 21 June 2006. Version 10.0.10240....
Whats the best way of making sure that the latest drivers are installed for all important parts of the machine and from where to get them as the download page for this model only shows Windows 7 drivers?
Thank you

If everything is working ok, then you don't need to worry.
That generic UPnP monitor driver (inf) will work fine. Many of the Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 drivers are still the old Windows Vista drivers from 2006. That's normal. I have Microsoft drivers from 2006 on my computer too. No biggie. I think they just went with the "if it ain't broke......."
If everything is working ok, then I'd probably stick with I the drivers that the Windows 10 upgrade gave me. But if you're adventurous, you can google around to see if there are better drivers.
If your computer is AMD based, you can try here:
http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/auto-detect-tool
If it's Intel based:

You can also check with various Microsoft support websites.....or google.
But just remember, if you start messing with drivers, it can sometimes do more harm than good.
