A couple of questions.

I have upgraded this 2-in-1 sucesfully, however do I still need the recovery partition for the machine to work correctly or can this simply be removed giving me back 7GB of space?

Secondly, are there any drivers that allow Tablet mode auto switching to work when you attach the keyboard and remove it?

Thanks in advance.

    glidem,

I do not think that you can remove the recovery partition on this system due to how it is set up with Windows itself.

Here is an article that we created that shows how to set Windows to always start in tablet mode, if you would rather do that.

There is a way to have Windows 10 create a recovery flash drive and a full system image backup (drive at least the same size as your C: drive should work, I have several on a terabyte USB backup disk.)

To create a recovery drive go to  Control Panel>All Control Panel Items > Recovery and select "Create a Recovery Drive". This will allow you to boot if all else fails

To create a system image in Win 10 go to Control Panel>All Control Panel Items > File History and System Image Backup is on the bottom left. The image file will allow you to restore the computer back to the same place where the image was created.

ANYONE doing a Windows 10 upgrade should do this first and I do it before upgrading a machine as well so have copies of both before and after.

Also to avoid confusing internal pointers NEVER just delete the recovery partitions, Windows depending on the version has ways to do this AFTER you create a recovery drive and system image.

I guys I figured it out!

You need to update your Bios! You can do that by going to the acer driver website and then select your model and download and install the bios update. After that you need to go to the acer switch 10 E download page go to application and download those two files. See pictures. After that continuum should work on your acer switch 10!

On my Switch 10 a week after installing Windows 10 I deleted windows.old and the BT install files using disk cleanup. That deletes your Windows 8.1. It also changed my recovery partition to only 449mb. After doing some research I found that Windows 10 does not use an image for recovering from the partition. Instead it uses the files in the recovery partition for rebuilding. The OEM image is replaced with the much smaller partition.
