Acer Aspire Touchpad sensitivity

I have been trawling online to find an answer and cannot see anyone has cured this yet? Since I update my laptop from Windows 7 to windows 10 the touchpad has become over sensitive to the touch. To the point I keep accidently clicking things and closing tabs when my hand brushes over it! I nearly made a purchase on ebay by accident too!

It worked perfectly fine before. I really need to solve this as it is frankly dangerous! I would settle for competely disabling the touch function on the touchpad if possible but when I go into the mouse setting there is no option to change any setting of sensitivity under the Elan tab and in fact other than the driver name at the top this tab is blank and greyed out so I cannot disable the touchpad either.

Can someone please help.

Acer support said there is no windows 10 driver available form them? There must be an otion of some sort even if it is reverting to an old driver to get the sensitivity adjustment option back maybe? Or maybe there is a driver direct from manufacturer but I am not 100% sure what I am looking for to be honest.

Please help.

Thank you

Lee

    leeroy_25,

Which model are you specifically having issues with so we can try to help narrow down a solution for you?

A basic troubleshooting step I can offer, if the touch pad driver is not showing that it is Elan, it sounds like you might need to download the drivers from our support site.

I have solved this issue now. It appears a new driver became available which I found via driver update in device manager...this fixed the error and made the advanced options available.
